Undoubtedly modern, yet Fukuoka is a gentle, relaxed pace which makes it an ideal option for those who are visiting the country for the first time and want to stop in the multi – city situated around the archipelago.
Candeo Hotel which is located conveniently near Canal City Hakata closer to Fukuoka Airport is what we preferred and if you cannot find a hotel near the station and make sure to choose a station nearby. This place has many shops, restaurants and other attractions. Most tourism spots in the town are accessible by subway.
Yanagawa river cruise
Yanagawa is just around an hour from the Hakata. It is a beautiful town of castles which are circumscribed by moats which was used to serve as a fort to the castle from the enemies while also keeping away animals. We went by a cruise on a boat. This place is said to be amazing in autumn and it is the best after it since the blossoms of cherry be in complete bloom. Enjoy the place, making it enjoyable exploring it in the traditional clothing such as a kimono set. Yes, great for IG-worthy moments! The next place was Nanzoin Temple which is situated in Sasaguri, which is around 20 kilometers from Fukuoka. It is the Buddhist Shrine, which one must go to. The colossal Buddha, stretching up to around 42 meters is the most preferred scene here.
Fukuoka castle ruins and Ohori Park
Ohori Park is located adjacent to the remains of the Fukuoka Castle and is a great place to just loiter around and admire the view. We explored surrounding sites too, like Ruins Museum, and the Ken Gokoku Shrine.
